Bigfork Fourth of July Parade
- At the very top of the list is the Fourth of July Parade through downtown.This is the true kickoff to summer in Bigfork. Thousands of people come from all over to see red, white, and blue splattered across Electric Avenue. The sun is out and so are the smiles. Folks are friendly and cold beers are flowing from the local bars. Watch the parade roll through town and snag some candy. Be sure to watch out for some of the floats spraying water, it can get wet!
Christmas Elves Decorate Downtown
2. Coming in second is the holiday decorationg and tree lighting ceremony. At the end of November, the Bigfork Elves show up supplied with hot cocoa and schnapps. The Elves get to work transforming the cute little town into a Hallmark Christmas Movie set. Christmas and the holidays are made special because of the many volunteers who show up to decorate the businesses and streets of Bigfork.
Whitewater Festival
3. If you are in Bigfork during Memorial Day Weekend, you can not miss Whitewater Festival. It literally takes over the whole town. Kayaks and rafters from all over the world come to test out their skills on the “Wild Mile” of the Swan River. During spring runoff, the rapids on this stretch hit class IV and class V. There is a lot of racing to see on the river during the day and live music every night at the local bars.
Bigfork Brewfest
4. Every March, Electric Avenue is closed for Bigfork Brewfest. No cars are allowed, and the street is lined with makeshift brewery tents and food trucks. This event seems to grow every year. Local folks that are itching with cabin fever meet with new and old friends over the shared love of good handcrafted brews. If you happen to be in the area at the tail end of winter, check out the annual Bigfork Brewfest.
Bigfork Festival of the Arts
5. For almost 50 years, the streets of Bigfork close on the first weekend of August. A slew of artists and crafters take over the streets for the annual Bigfork Festival of the Arts. Over the festival weekend, an estimated 600 people will attend and visit up to 145 different booths. Makers display their goods and the local bars and restaurants host live music and specials. A fun way to get out and mingle and support the local craftsmen.
